A bilateral cooperation meeting was held on 10th Saur 1405 (April 30, 2026), bringing together cultural committee leaders, secretaries, and members from both institutions. The meeting aimed to establish sustainable cultural partnerships and strengthen scientific, educational, and research collaboration between two leading academic institutions in western Afghanistan.
The primary objective was to leverage shared capacities to enhance the quality of education, promote meaningful cultural engagement, and further develop the academic and professional competencies of medical students.
A key highlight of this initiative was the active and leading involvement of HUMSA (Herat University Medical Students Association), which played a central role in the planning, coordination, and successful execution of the meeting.
Discussions centered on several strategic areas of collaboration, including the implementation of joint public health awareness initiatives and community-based outreach programs; the organization of scientific seminars and student-led academic conferences to promote knowledge exchange; the strengthening of cultural and academic engagement through closer collaboration between student bodies and recognition of high-achieving students; and the promotion of a culture grounded in mutual respect, inclusivity, and professional ethics among medical students.
This meeting represents an important step toward fostering effective collaboration between public and private higher education institutions. Such initiatives contribute significantly to the academic, cultural, and social advancement of medical students in Herat, while supporting the development of a more integrated and forward-looking academic environment.
